Monkey King (VR) - EPISODE 02 - Storyboards
The storyboards I did at Digital Frontier FX. These were done for episode two of Digital Domain's "The Monkey King" (Virtual Reality project).

Egged on by his rival, Jin, and succumbing to his ego, Wukong sets out to prove himself as worthy to the Master... by challenging the Virulent; a monster Jin said no one was brave enough to face. Wukong gets more than he bargains for.
Wukong escapes with Cloud from the Virulent's cave, while Jin watches. The Virulent chases him in fit of rage.
Meanwhile, at the temple, the students and the Master's meditation is suddenly interrupted. Jin comes running to "warn" the Master of the Virulent's coming rampage.
The Virulent arrives at the Monkey Village from EP 01, the closest target of his rage he can find and rampages through. The Master and his students try to stop him.
The episode ends on Wukong dozing off in the sun after his victory, unknowing of what he's caused thanks to his pride.
